So, I started to a new hobby in photography. I have friends who have really nice DSLR cameras and the pictures they take are amazing. I wanted to invest in something that would yield great returns. I decided to get a DSLR camera so that when my family go on vacations we can have great pictures to document every trip. I also wanted to take good pictures of my kids.
The first thing I did before buying a DSLR camera was to research the different models and try to see what other people were saying in reviews and open forums. After a week of researching I decide that I would take on the challenge of buying a Canon 40D DSLR camera with a 28-135mm IS USM lens. I found a great deal at Costco.com for $1149.00 and knew that if I didn't like the camera I had 90 days to return it.
The camera got here on July 15th and I have started to play around with it. There are a lot of options to play with when taking various types of pictures. I have mostly taken pictures of my kids and I can already tell the difference in picture quality. I will post some pictures in my next few post as I am very busy at work. To further enhance my dealings with my new hobby, I decided to enroll in an Intro to Photography class at the nearby community college. I figure the class will help me understand the basic handling of a camera and its function.
I welcome my family and friends and all that stumble onto my blog. Hopefully you will gain something from looking into a part of my life.
