Hawaii Day 7

We started day 7 by going out to the local Farmer's Market at the community college. We enjoyed fresh BBQ abalone and the girls wanted their shaved ice. After the Farmer's Market we headed out to the Japanese Temple, a replica of the one in Japan. It was an amazing place and the girls enjoyed feeding the birds and fish there. Next we headed back to North Shore close to Pupukea Beach Park where the lava rock create mini lagoons that are very shallow that the kids can enjoy. We spent the rest of the day in North Shore. We made sure to visit the sea turtles basking in the sun before we headed back. I got a nice shot of the sun hiding behind some clouds right before the sunset.

Hawaii 2010 Day 6

Day 6 started off a little shaky with Ashley getting allergies. She had some puffiness in for face and eyes. But she was still in good spirits and by the end of the day it would go away. We started the morning making our own leis again. After that we walked the marketplace to go to Restaurant Suntory for breakfast/brunch. It was a very cool tappanyaki meal and the kids enjoyed the presentation. Next we headed to the Hilo Hattie Store and got mommy a turtle necklace. After that we headed back to the marketplace where there was a live performance being held. The kids enjoyed the music and dancing. We took some pictures. Then we went to the Ferrari Shop to purchase a hat for Ashley. By then, night was upon us and Ashley got a picture with Elmo walking the streets of Waikiki.

Hawaii 2010 Day 5

So on day 5 we spent the whole day at Hanauma Bay. When we got there in the morning, the parking lot was full already, but learning from past experiences, we stalled time at the next available look out. After 15 minutes the parking opened up again and we were ready to begin the full day there. The girls met a friend and Sherrie went snorkeling or tried to. Again this year while snorkeling I got to see a real life sea turtle out in the bay. The tide was low that day so you could snorkel out to the rocks and really not get into that much of deep waters. We concluded the day or shall I say night walking along the market area on Waikiki Beach. Got the girls some balloon animals and finished the night on our hotel balcony drinking a Mai Tai. Enjoy the pics!

Hawaii 2010 Day 4

Wait, what happened to day 3. Well I took a break from picture taking on Day 3, I might come back and post some pics from my phone, but I am pretty sure I took a full day off from taking pictures and just enjoyed the day with the family. Day 4 was an eventful day. We woke up early and hiked Diamond Head. The girls amazingly completed the hike up without any help. But on the way down from Diamond Head, they got tired, so we sometimes would help them, meaning daddy has to alternate between carrying the girls down Diamond Head. Let me just say that the view is so worth the hike. It is an amazing view of Honolulu from that vantage point. The next destination was Nuuanu Pali lookout and the strong trade winds from that location. By then Alyssa was tired and sleeping in the car, so it was just me and Ashley. From there we went to the East side of Oahu to Kailua Beach. What an amazing beach, the sand and water was just breathtaking. After a few hours at the beach, we went around the island to North Shore where we ate at Romy's, another must when in Oahu. We capped of the day and sunset at Matsumoto shaved iced. Wow what a full day we had. Check out the pics!

Hawaii 2010 Day 1

OK so we landed in Honolulu, Hawaii Saturday night and checked into the hotel. There was an issue with our room and we would not settle into our correct room until the next day. Other than the little hiccup in the beginning, the whole vacation was a blast and much needed. I realize that I took over 1000 pics so what I decided to do is separate the pics into the days that we were in Hawaii. So this is Day 1 where we spent most of the day driving along the east coast of Oahu and enjoying the scenic locations. We did settle into a beach location at Sandy Beach where the waves were breaking hard and fast. So check out the pics of our Hawaii Day 1.

San Diego Zoo

We spent the day at the San Diego Zoo and the girls had to visit the panda exhibit. We also ran into a peacock and it open its beautiful feathers to us. In Chinese the peacock is the phoenix and a person receives good luck when it reveals its beautiful feathers. So the family that day was pretty lucky to see it happen. Check out the photos.

For Chinese New Years the family went and visited the Jade Buddha for Universal Peace. The Buddha is touring the world and will end its tour in Australia. If you guys like more information you can go to http://www.jadebuddha.org.au/en/ and check if it is coming to a city near you. It is an amazing statue and you can even YouTube it to see how it was carved and made, all by hands.

Chargers Playoff Pictures

It a sad day in Charger's History as today 02/22/2010, LT is no longer a Chargers. I hope that if we ever win a Super Bowl in the next couple of years that they give LT an honorary ring for his contribution to the resurrection of the team in the last 9 years. These pictures are from the playoffs that ended our journey to the Super Bowl this year.
